Product FAQs

  • Which reflective tape configuration is suitable for night transport or warehouse work?
For low-light or night operations, Bio Motion tape (two bands around arms and legs) is recommended as it highlights movement. For indoor warehouses with partial lighting, standard reflective tape on chest and back is often sufficient. All Big Bee hi-vis garments comply with AS/NZS 4602.1 standards.
  • What are the different reflective tape patterns (Double Hoop / H-Pattern / X-Pattern) and when are they mandatory in Australia?
Hoop Pattern – Two horizontal bands around the torso plus arm bands. Common on worksites, warehouses, logistics. Not mandatory. H-Pattern – Vertical stripes from shoulders to waist with a horizontal band (front & back). Required for rail, metro and airport airside workers. Mandatory in these industries. X-Pattern – Crossed stripes on the back with a horizontal waist band, plus arm bands. Required for roadworks, traffic control, highways, tunnels. Mandatory under road safety regulations. 📌 In summary: Hoop = general use, H = rail/airport, X = road & traffic control. All comply with AS/NZS 4602.1:2011 hi-vis safety standards.
  • What is the benefit of underarm or back vents?
Vent panels improve airflow and reduce body heat while working. This feature helps workers stay comfortable during physical tasks or in hot environments.
  • Do long sleeve work shirts help with sun protection?
Yes. Long sleeves provide extra coverage for the arms, which helps reduce sun exposure. Many cotton shirts also offer natural UV resistance, making them suitable for outdoor jobs.
  • Why choose a work shirt instead of a polo?
Work shirts offer a collared, professional style with extra pockets for storage. They are better for tradies and site teams who need durability, more coverage, and a tidier uniform look.
  • Can all Big Bee workwear products be customised with digital print and embroidery?
Yes. All Big Bee workwear garments are designed with logo-ready panels that suit both digital print and embroidery. Whether it’s polos, shirts, hoodies or jackets, our fabrics and layouts ensure your branding applies cleanly and lasts through repeat wear and washing.
